A call to action for bored 80's....

This thread will not apply to all 80's. Some of you may not have any open slots left not filled with over 25 level chars. Others may have no interests in this.

I am a bored 80. I don't like to raid. I like to pvp. AND most of all, I enjoy helping new players. It started in-guild, helping low level new players. Not all guilds accept any players not 80, I know LiF does not.

I made an alt in tort. I wanted to try a caster for a change as all my chars in any MMO have always been melee. My 80 is a sin, by the way. I also wanted to be a "bad girl" and try the "red=dead" thing. Well I stink at red=dead, I am simply too nice . I end up attacking/dueling/warring other pvpers. In Tort you often see calls for aid on quests. Also calls for aid vs ganking in Under Halls. I found myself going to aid these new players, no matter what guild ( if any ) they were in, more and more.

I end up giving lots of advice on quests, classes ( if I am familiar with the class), and other game tips. Sure, sometimes the person joins my guild. Most times they already in a guild though. I enjoy helping.

We all know AoC needs more and more sub's. We know a new players Tortage experince will either make them stay and sub, or quit in frustration. We see posts all over the forums qqing about Tort greifing/ganking. I have seen personally posts in guild about patrolling WS/UH to police them, but most 80's too busy raiding and such to actually go on an alt. So that noble ideal is not a reality.

I find myself teaching new players nightly on pvp movement and mini stategies. In RL I am a teacher and a professional animal trainer, so maybe it is in my nature to teach and work with behavior. However, this game needs more population. Wheter you like it or not, Tort is a new players first exp with AoC. Yes, ganking and greifing is in Tort, although not to the extent in Cimmeria as believed. We pvpers in WS help curb a lot of it.

My "Call to action" is to come make a difference in the new player's experience. Come to Tort if bored.....If nothing else, come to Tort and mini. Our 20s minis are unique becuase we go in raid of 12, then, we balance the teams. GASP! Yes, I will say it again, we are in raid so all can see the players with whom are signing to a mini. We switch within the raid to balance, even if it means spliting guild members. As far as I know, that is unique only to be found in the 20's minis. Think about it, no premade uber teams...No 25's vs 39's......And we get brand new players whom have a chance to learn how to mini and group pvp without getting farmed, or frustrated.

So if bored, and want to make a difference, roll an alt, come to Tort and save a possible subber.
