Lack of critical gameplay information

I bought the game two days ago after playing the trial, and I've enjoyed the game very much so far but there's one glaring problem I've noticed from the start. There's just such a lack of gameplay mechanic information available. Whether it's the effect of stats (how much health does 1 constitution even give? Anyone's guess...) or the curiously absent tooltip description for many feats that detail exactly what kind of effect it will have.

As a barbarian, for instance, how do I know if I should get Atrocity? It says it increases my chance to apply my stance effect, but by how much? Or Reverse Swing, it says it increases the damage for Staggering Blows (a combo I never even use because of inferior damage to my other combos) but doesn't detail precisely how much more damage.

If there's one thing that is going to get me to quit this game, it's this. More than anything, also, I just simply don't understand why no one else is talking about this. Does everyone just take for granted that they have to meticulously search the forums for information on game mechanics that some good samaritan kindly took a few hours to test in game himself and post the results? Do newcomers not care about their feat choice or the general mechanics of the game as much as I do?

In World of Warcraft, for example, for all its flaws the one thing I loved was that no matter how overwhelming all of the information I could take refuge in the fact that the information was there if I wanted to read it and understand it. I never felt like I took a feat or used an ability and didn't know exactly what it did.

I feel like I'm in a pitch black room just feeling my way around trying to get a feel for the way things are, learning as I go. Unfortunately, other players have been playing for one to two years and have knowledge that I simply cannot get without trial and error, and that creates a gross imbalance when it comes to PvP.

Am I missing something that everyone else gets? Or am I just more obsessive and perfectionist than most other people? I don't think it's much to ask to want to have some numbers to go along with our feats instead of a vague "increases damage" indicator.
